
Val Lupescu - Born in Romania, Val moved to the US at the age
of 12. Val graduated from Florida International University
in Miami with a
BA in Jazz Performance, where he had the opportunity to perform with Arturo
Sandoval, Nestor Torres, and jazz legend Clark Terry. In South Florida, he
played with various groups including the Dean
Madonia Band, Brian Eckert and the Wild Oats, Paris and the Goldberg/Allen Quartet. In
1999, Val's instrumental jazz fusion group, the V-loop Trio, released Kindred Souls, a CD featuring original
compositions. After relocating to Nashville
in 2001, Val played with Brian Eckert in the contemporary jazz group Straight
Up and various other freelance gigs and sessions. In the summer of 2004,
Val started a new instrumental group, Transit 3, with bassist Travis Vance and
drummer Michael Walter. On Sundays, Val serves on the worship team at Calvary Chapel Brentwood. In 2008,
Val and Rick Filer started a music production company in Nashville,TN.
They have been working on the Romerica
project, which features a collection of original songs in various styles. Give
